2026 Policy Pitch Competition

Here is your chance to turn ideas into impact. Tackle real policy challenges and pitch bold, research-backed solutions in a fast, high-energy format. Make your case. Shape the future.

From Idea to Impact
Students begin by submitting a policy pitch that tackles a real-world challenge with a bold, evidence-based solution. The strongest submissions advance to the final round, where ten finalists deliver a five-minute pitch proposing a national, state, local, or university-level policy. Slides are encouraged but not required. A panel of public policy experts and practitioners evaluates the pitches and selects three winners.

Cash prizes and a chance to pitch your policy to legislators!

Eligibility Requirements
Any current Samford undergraduate student with an original policy proposal is eligable to participate. Proposals from any policy area are welcome. No prior policy experience or background is required.

How it Works
1. Register by submitting a short application and a written policy proposal by March 1, 2026.
2. A committee will select the top 10 proposals and will notify competitors by March 15, 2026.
3. If your proposal is chosen, you will present it in person during the final round on March 30, 2026.
